Randy Sherman Rifle

I was very lucky to have won this rifle at the Keating Mountain shoot a few years back along with a Scott Bryan bag and horn. The idea I was told came from a museum piece but I cannot remember where. It is a straight barreled 54 caliber rifle and large Siler lock. The bayonet was Randy's idea for the rifle but he had not finished it by the time of the shoot. He gave me the steel tube and I cut down a brown bess bayonet and welded the two together. The bayonet scabbard I made with vegetable tanned leather and a hemp strap. Thanks again to Randy and Scott

Stevens/Savage model 200 25-06 customized

This rifle had a synthetic stock and was painted camo, barrel, stock scope and all. I made this walnut stock, nickel silver plates at bottom of "pistol grip" and under the recoil pad. The forearm cap is poured pewter. The trigger guard/ floor plate I made out of steel and fire blued it along with all the screws. The barrel is free floating and I put in bronze collars for the pillars. Unlike most modern rifles I put about a 1/4" castoff in the stock. I holds nice. Have to sight it in yet.

These are all clothes my mom made. The coat is wool and lined with linen, and has pewter buttons. The shirt is raw silk with "bunched" sleeves. The leggins are canvas. She dyed all the materiel as well.
