Edward Marshall Rifle

This is my take on the Marshall rifle, not an exact copy. It has a 54 caliber, c weight, Early transitional style Rice barrel. The lock was made by Danny Caywood. Reeves Goering brass mounts, with a sterling silver overlay on the triggerguard.  The curly maple stock has been relief carved. I modified the Davis double set triggers, and made the patchbox, ramrod pipes, ramrod tip, sideplate, and barrel lugs. Time to shoot!!

Long Bow

This is a 6' hickory long bow with a 42# draw at 28". The handle is leather. I made this one for my brother's birthday from a kit. I've made them from scratch before, but didn't have any dried blanks this time around. Yes it is a lefty!

Belt Bag

Belt pouch I recently finished up. It's lined with a dyed pillow ticking, and the belt loop serves as an outside pocket

N.E. Fowler Targets

1st place had one more clay bird at this shoot. Excuses excuses... Anyway this was the 1st shoot out with the fowler. The card was just some fooling around on a weekend. Yup, they are terribly inaccurate flash bang guns!

Latest Projects

The small belt knife has a blade forged from 1085 steel, caribou slabs, a pewter band and bolster. The sheath is veg.tan.
The bark tanned fowling bag is one I just wrapped up to go with the N.England fowler.
This pistol I'm just getting going on. The barrel I made from and old octagonal rifled pistol barrel. It is now an 8" stepped round 50 caliber smoothbore. The lock is a small Queen Anne. Walnut stock is just starting to take shape.

NE Fowler

This is the New England fowler I'd been waiting to build for myself for quite sometime. It has a plain maple stock, Chamber's colonial lock, Netting 54" 54 cal. smoothbore barrel (I milled the side flats), the brass butt plate and trigger guard are from TOW and where modified and engraved. The pipes are from Mold and Gun Shop. The side plate I made. My trigger and wrist inlay are from an original (-the trigger plate). Stock is scraped. I antiqued the whole thing up some. Balances and shoots great.

This is a rifle I finished up last month. It has a 50 caliber swamped Rice barrel, Chamber's late Ketland flintlock, curly maple stock, and iron mounts.
